The Olga and Rufino Tamayo Foundation was established in 1989 by Rufino Tamayo and his wife Olga, with the aim of supporting the museum’s infrastructure and the development of research projects and public programming of Museo Tamayo. Its mission is to strengthen Mexico´s cultural heritage by supporting research, acquisition, and the exhibition of international contemporary art, as well as the museum´s permanent collection, and the work of its founder, Rufino Tamayo. Its vision is to become a civil partnership that supports and promotes the highest order of contemporary art from Mexico and Latin America by strengthening collaboration between the Federal Government and the private sector.
